The spring inside the viewer is what enables it to advance your reel from one photo to the next. If your spring is broken or has come loose, and you want to try to replace it yourself, you can do so.
We are also happy to replace your viewer at no charge if you have just purchased it, or if you've had it for a while and it has been damaged through normal wear and tear, you can buy just a viewer on our website if you like.
If you do want to repair it, use a broad, flat prying tool to carefully open your viewer. The photo below shows where the spring should be attached.
Once you've put the spring back in place, make sure the advance lever is in the position shown above, align the posts on the front of the viewer with the holes on the back and gently press the two sides of the viewer back together.
